I’m an artist + filmmaker, trained in traditional crafts and now working across mediums, mainly thinking about materials and mending, especially through the lens of kintsugi, the Japanese art of ceramic repair.
I’m fascinated by the material cycle and like to know where materials come from, how we use and live with them, and where they go when we’re done with them. So, my work often explores ways in which we can cultivate material literacy (especially my own) to better understand how human lives intersect with the lives of things.
I explore this in a few different ways that complement one another; a studio-based art practice working with ceramics and lacquer, inquiries through filmmaking, some more playful material research, and arts in community projects. You can read about some past stuff below 👇
